It is almost 20 years now since the last Colloquium of Wine in Antiquity held in the Museum of Badalona in 1998. Research in the wine production and trade has continued in the last years, with new developments in grounds of research, and above all with the inclusion of a new generation of well-prepared researchers.
For this reason, the Museum of Badalona in collaboration with the nearby research centres (UAB, UB, ICAC and MAC) believes it is right time to hold a new Colloquium of the Wine in Antiquity aiming to present new information and exchange methods, experiences and perspectives amongst international researchers specialised in this exciting world of the ancient wine.
Although, we still live in turbulent times due to the pandemic, we have decided to go ahead in the initiative to organise this Colloquium (19th-21st October 2022) aiming that improvement in conditions will allow us to have a presential meeting without hindrances.
And we want to continue the meeting because, as Seneca the Younger said: “The wine washes our unrests, rinses the soul to the bottom and assures the cure of the sadness”
