Donations to the Museum’s heritage funds

In the last two months, the Museum has received a set of objects as a donation that, while always interesting, on this occasion are somewhat exceptional.

On the one hand, Ms. Montserrrat Núñez de Arenas offered the Museum the collection of ceramic pieces made during the 25 years that the Badalona Pottery Fair was held, from 1980 to 2004. The collection was made and preserved by the donor’s father, Mr. Josep Núñez de Arenas Alsina, a potter, who had a ceramics shop on Carrer de la Soledat in Badalona and was one of the promoters of this fair.

The other donation was a polychrome tile panel, from 1901, with the image of the Mare de Déu del Roser, donated by Mr. Ernest Sentís on behalf of the company Lloreda, SL. This panel located on the main facade of Can Lloreda was removed at the end of the sixties when the farmhouse was demolished and the Sentís family has preserved it until now.

As in all cases, we want to publicly thank these people for their generosity and for having trusted the Museum of Badalona to preserve this heritage.
