Martín Gallego is not a professional photographer, but he has long been one of the well-known (or even recognized) photographers in Badalona, his most common area. Some people also know him because they have taken a photography course with him, or because they have followed him in discussions and debates about cameras, lenses or accessories.

We have known him at the Museum of Badalona for a long time. We know him because he has come to present a project he had in mind (which ultimately did not prosper); this was in 2009. And, since 2019, we have known him because whenever he closes a project, he then gives the Museum a pendrive with a copy of his photographs so that they become part of the Museum’s collection. When the project is not just a few photographs but has been able to be realized in the publication of a book, he also gives the Museum -in fact, the city- a copy.

Always free of charge, giving the Museum complete freedom of use of this material and photographic files.

Today, therefore, we begin this year with a collection of several of his photographs of Martín Gallego’s projects that can be consulted in the Museum’s Image Archive.
