On the death of Genís Llamas

Genís Llamas Llobet (1948-2018) was president of the Club Juventut Badalona between 1996 and 1999. Before, and until age 17, he had been a club player in the lower categories, and was always linked to it.

Beyond this close relationship with the Penya, Genís Llamas was the owner of the company Llamas SA, founded in 1923 by his grandfather, Ginés Llamas Martínez, and the owners of the companies Servus and Kaol, under the name of Artes metalgráficas Hispanic Lubszynski. As of 1956 the company happened to denominate Artes metalgráficas Ginés Llamas, and years later, Llamas SA. Dedicated to the manufacture and lithography of cans, it was located in the street of Vila Vall-Llebrera, in the neighborhood of Coll i Pujol.

In 2002, the company moved to Celrà (Girona), and in 2009 it was acquired by the Mexican group Zapata, one of the largest manufacturers of packaging in Latin America.

Some of the most popular containers that were made in the installations of Badalona are those of Cola-Cao and the Servus products.
