The envelat. Unique architecture and symbol of the catalan popular festivals
from 08 de February to 18 de March de 2018
Open from Tuesday to Saturday from 5 to 8 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm.
The envelat has been an indispensable and emblematic element of the celebrations for more than a century and those of Badalona were very prestigious during the first half of the 20th century. The exhibition, organized by the Generalitat of Catalonia, goes through all the aspects that have to do with these old traditional festival tents: the typology and its evolution, the architecture, the assembly and disassembly process, the activities, etc.
In the exhibition we will see photographs and films that are part of the Museum's collections, which will allow us to observe the changes experienced in the social sphere during the golden years of the celebrations.
A conference will also be offered by one of the curators of the exhibition, who have carried out a complete investigation on the subject.
